What medications your providers do NOT prescribe

In order for our clinic to provide optimal care, SimpliWell does not provide or refill certain medications. Please read the following information before requesting any refills.

Our providers will not...

  • Prescribe any controlled substances, including all narcotics.

  • Prescribe most muscle relaxants.

  • Prescribe medications for abortion and weight loss.

  • Initiate medications for ADHD, insomnia, and psychotropic medications. ** Our providers may be able to assist with refilling these medications if medically appropriate.**

Please note:
  • Our no-controlled-substances policy is an operational policy decided by Joseph Thomas, MD. This policy is due to operational limitations of our practice, rather than a response to any specific federal or state telehealth regulation.

  • For South Carolina (SC), lifestyle medications (including erectile dysfunction drugs) are not permitted through telemedicine. For Minnesota (MI) and North Dakota(ND), erectile dysfunction treatment requires further evaluation that is out of our service scope.

  • Our providers CANNOT prescribe medications for treatments that require continuing or special monitoring (ex. treatment for hepatitis, syphilis, smoking cessation, HRT, etc.)
